  • The State House, Boston

Registration is closed

Meetings have been scheduled with key legislators.
The AOMSM has arranged for the opportunity for legislators to see the face of Oriental Medicine through one on one meetings.

Or you can schedule your own meeting, follow the directions below.

The objective of these meetings is to educate and inform legislators about the purpose and value of acupuncture and East Asian Medicine as an important component in the comprehensive health care act, as well as to educate them of the public health risks posed by untrained allied health professionals using acupuncture needles.

Options include attending a morning training session with our lobbyist, outlining a procedure, including materials and talking points for morning meetings with key legislators. Please plan to stay for lunch. We encourage acupuncturists who can, to schedule meetings with your own legislators for the afternoon. You will have the inspiration and materials to meet with your legislators on your own.

Here is how to schedule with your legislator.

Locate and call your legislators, state your name and that you are one of their constituents, Ask for a 10 minute appointment to speak with them about  "An Act Relative to the Safe Treatment of Pain" HD2006 and "An Act relative to the practice of acupuncture", HD930 and S1231. It is fine to only meet with staff.
